Cara’s professional career has included an interesting and challenging mix of sales and non-profit experience in 3 diverse fields: Technology and Database Software, International Non-Profit Fundraising and Events and the Wine Business. She attended the University of San Francisco studying French which resulted in opportunities to travel abroad in Spain, Portugal, and France where she became fluent in French. During her 6+ living in San Francisco she became familiar with the wine industry through friends in the business. Her passions run deep for vineyard properties and the art and science of the cultivation of wine grapes. Her passion is rooted in working with winemakers, enthusiasts and investors in viticulture to further the Texas Wine Industry. She enjoys serving as a volunteer for the Texas Food and Wine Festival and writing articles about the business. Additionally, Cara continues her education in cutting edge organic, sustainable agriculture techniques, soil management with a consulting firm in New Mexico.
Raised in New Mexico then later Dallas, TX, Cara followed her heart to San Francisco, France and then back to Austin, Texas in 2007 to be with her husband, David, a semiconductor design engineer. In her free time, Cara enjoys riding horses with her friends and family who are involved in polo and spending time with her Jack Russell Terrier, "Auggie". Cara has a deep interest in real estate, visiting tour homes. Experienced in completing a Travis Heights remodel with her husband in 2007 she became inspired to learn more about residential Austin homes and neighborhoods.
An inspiring mentor has given her insight into creating and running REITs of vineyard properties and continues guiding and inspiring her steps to represent winemakers in Central Texas and beyond. This has led her to a Real Estate career, which coupled with her diverse experience and high sensitivity to customer service, results in satisfied home and land buyers and sellers throughout Central Texas. Cara is currently a member of the Austin Board of REALTORS®, the National Association of REALTORS®, and the Texas Association of REALTORS® and Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate.
